The Porsche 911 Coupé offered here was delivered by Porsche Cars America in November 1966, in the color Polo Red and black leatherette, to the famous cartoonist Howard Shoemaker from Omaha, Nebraska. Howard Shoemaker worked for Porsche USA and Playboy, among others, in the 1960s. His Porsche cartoons were much appreciated in Stuttgart. The booklet with Shoemaker cartoons that Porsche published for its customers in 1964 is a rare and sought-after item today (an original is included with the car). Cartoons by Howard Shoemaker were also published in various issues of the Porsche Christophorus magazine.
Shoemaker covered a total of 55,000 miles in his 911 before he parked it in his garage in the early 1980s and only finally parted with the car in 2014, after almost 48 years of ownership. It found a new owner and enthusiast in the UK, who gave the coupé a complete restoration.
About a year ago, this beautiful Porsche 911 Coupé was imported to Switzerland and is, fresh from a major service and MOT veteran, in excellent and well-maintained collector's condition. It is matching numbers and color and very well documented via a copy of the Kardex with all the facts of the first delivery, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the original US title and many other documents.

The Porsche 911, also known as the nine-eleven for short, is the Stuttgart-based company's best-known sports car and is regarded as the epitome of the brand.
Body variants are the Coupé, the Cabriolet and the Targa.
In the past, the Porsche 911 was successfully used as a racing car in the World Sports Car Championship and the German Racing Championship.

The first 911 version built in series from September 1964 was the so-called original model presented at the IAA 1963 with a 130 hp 2-liter six-cylinder boxer engine.
Even when stationary, this 911 is a homage to the original, the clarity of the mechanics and the art of omission.

Das hier angebotene Porsche 911 Coupé wurde von Porsche Cars America im November 1966, in der Farbe Polo Red und Kunstleder schwarz, an den berühmten Karikaturisten Howard Shoemaker aus Omaha, Nebraska, ausgeliefert. Howard Shoemaker arbeitete in den 60er Jahren für Porsche USA und u.a. den Playboy. Seine Porsche-Cartoons wurden in Stuttgart sehr geschätzt. Das Heft mit Shoemaker-Cartoons, das Porsche 1964 für seine Kunden herausgab, ist heute ein seltenes und begehrtes Stück (ein Original wird mit dem Auto mitgegeben). Cartoons von Howard Shoemaker wurden auch in verschiedenen Ausgaben des Porsche Christophorus-Magazins veröffentlicht.
Shoemaker legte mit seinem 911er insgesamt 55'000 Meilen zurück, bevor er ihn Anfangs der 80er Jahre in seiner Garage abstellte und sich erst im Jahr 2014, nach fast 48 Jahren Besitz, schliesslich von dem Auto trennte. Es fand einen neuen Besitzer und Liebhaber in Grossbritannien, der das Coupé einer kompletten Restauration unterzog.
Vor ca. einem Jahr wurde dieses wunderschöne Porsche 911 Coupé in die Schweiz importiert und befindet sich, frisch ab grossem Service und MFK-Veteran, in hervorragendem und top gepflegtem Sammlerzustand. Es ist matching numbers and color und über eine Kopie des Kardex mit allen Facts der Erstauslieferung, ein Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, den originalen US-Title und vielen weiteren Unterlagen sehr gut dokumentiert.

Der Porsche 911, kurz auch Neunelfer oder nur Elfer genannt, ist der bekannteste Sportwagen des Stuttgarter Unternehmens und gilt als Inbegriff der Marke.
Karosserievarianten sind das Coupé, das Cabriolet und der Targa.
Der Porsche 911 wurde in der Vergangenheit erfolgreich als Rennwagen in der Sportwagen-Weltmeisterschaft und der Deutschen Rennsport-Meisterschaft eingesetzt.

Die ab September 1964 in Serie gebaute erste 911-Version war das auf der IAA 1963 vorgestellte sogenannte Urmodell mit einem 130 PS leistenden 2-Liter-Sechszylinder-Boxermotor.
Dieser 911 ist schon im Stand eine Hommage an das Ursprüngliche, die Klarheit der Mechanik und die Kunst des Weglassens.
