Numbers game
After setting the car world alight with the launch of the Vanquish Zagato Coupé, then fanning the flames with a beguiling Volante variant, Aston Martin is adding two new models to the line-up. While one of these fresh faces is more traditional — a sculpted Speedster model incorporating the signature Zagato ‘double bubble’ roof design — the Shooting Brake is a lesser-seen silhouette in the Aston Martin and Zagato landscape. What’s more, this practical offering will be a two seater, with a focus on adding sensibility and functionality to its stunning form.
Crowded design house
With a total production of 325 units for the Vanquish Zagato ‘family’, the breakdown is as follows: 99 Coupés, 99 Volantes, 99 Shooting Brakes, and just 28 Speedsters. As we know, the Coupés sold out long ago and have already been spied in the wild, with the Volante selling out shortly after, along with all 28 Speedsters, with deliveries scheduled for 2018. Although it’s not yet confirmed if all allocations for the Shooting Brake are filled, it’s not unreasonable to assume that, as with the rest of the range, there will be no shortage of customers for these 600bhp British beasts in their sharp, carbon-fibre, Italian suits…
