With the new Range Rover P400e PHEV, a 404hp and 640Nm plug-in hybrid, Land Rover’s one step closer to achieving its goal of electrifying the entire model range by 2020. The 85-kilowatt electric motor allows whisper-quiet and full-electric journeys with a range of more than 31 miles; after which, the two-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine can always jump in, should you not want to leave your land for a re-charge

While the hybrid system may be the most talked-about innovation for the new Range Rover range, it’s not the only one. From now on, there will be new, softer, and more comfortable seats, with numerous comfort functions, including being able to recline up to 40 degrees — just like in the business class. The entertainment system, which has two touch screens, has also been redesigned. And there will be a new and sporty top model for the series, the Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic, which has a maximum horsepower of 565, allowing it to accelerate from 0–60mph in 5.1 seconds — roaring like a stag in mating season the whole way. Fox and pheasant are sure to forgive.
