Von allen im letzten Baujahr 1963 produzierten Fahrzeugen haben heute nur noch 26 Matching Numbers, also 1 von 26!

Unser Roadster wurde im Oktober 1963 von seinem amerikanischen Erstbesitzer im Werk Untertürkheim persönlich abgeholt und kurze Zeit später nach New York verschifft.

Der Erstbesitzer behielt den Wagen bis ins Jahr 1988! In einem Kaufvertrag von damals ist die originale Laufleistung vermerkt: 26.997 mls!

Trotz des erstklassigen Originalzustandes entschied man sich 1989/90 den Wagen von Paul Russel umfangreich restaurieren zu lassen. Ca. 200.000 $ wurden investiert.

Rechnungen und Fotos der Arbeiten liegen vor.

Bereits seit 1991 befindet sich der 300 SL wieder in Deutschland und zwar durchgängig in der selben Hand.

Only the last 210 units of the 300 SL Roadster had the aluminium engine and disc brakes

Of all vehicles produced in the last year of construction 1963, just 26 still have matching numbers today!

Our Roadster was collected personally by its initial American owner from the Untertürkheim plant in October 1963 and shipped to New York a short time later.

The original owner kept the car until 1988! The original mileage is noted in a purchase contract from that time: 26,997 mls!

Despite its first-class original condition, it was decided to have the car extensively restored by Paul Russel in 1989/90. Around $200,000 was invested.

Invoices and photos of the work are available.

The 300 SL has been back in Germany since 1991 and has been in the same ownership throughout.
