After its iconic predecessor, the 190SL, passed over its competitors with flying colours, it was time for renewal. Mercedes joined forces with French designer Paul Bracq to give the entire SL line a fresh new touch, and this was an immediate success. In March 1963, when the Mercedes-Benz 230 Sl was present at the Geneva International Motor Show, it caused a sensation in the automotive industry. It went down in history as a very powerful two-seater roadster that distinguished itself from its competitors by excellent comfort, outstanding driving performance and outstanding driving safety.

his 230Sl still resides in the same rare Beige/Blue colour combination as it was delivered new in 1964, and the finish with the original ornamental wood in the interior completes the picture. The car is still fully matching to this day and is in superb condition. The blue full-leather interior is finished to the highest quality and even looks better than when it left the factory. No expense was spared to make this beauty a gem again, so she was fully nuts&bolts restored in-house by us in 2017 and rebuilt from the bare plate to the original specifications. Every detail was paid attention to and the result is impressive. Afterwards, the photos of the process were used to create a booklet which, along with the many invoices present, comes with the car. But not only does she look very good, technically she is also in top condition. So after the engine and gearbox overhaul, it goes without saying that the car drives and shifts like new and is a pleasure to take to the track. Its early year also makes it the ideal car for taking part in just about any rally. Nothing is missing from this car, via the available data card you can deduce that this was one of the few 230sl's that had the factory option of the 3rd seat and even the original jack and hardtop are still with the car. As icing on the cake, the soft top was also replaced with a new one, albeit in the correct colour.
