Beyond the historical interest of a 1935 Traction Avant 7C which is one of the first examples produced and identifiable by many specific details such as the blind trunk, we have never been given the opportunity to examine a Traction Avant in such a good state of preservation. This condition is due to a clear history since this example was registered by a pharmacist from the Loire in 1935 under the number 7569 JA 3. We also find this number written in chalk under the hood, probably at the factory! The car then passed under the new registration system in 1955 when it received the number 437 CK 42. Impressed by the condition of this car which he came across from time to time in his village and which never went out on rainy days, Roger Sanlaville, an early collector, tried to buy it in the late 1960s, but only succeeded in 1973, when the car had clocked up a little over 34,000 km since new. (We found an oil change label from 1968 at 34 060 km). Never repainted, sound, with an interior in exceptionally well-preserved condition, its original engine and gearbox, this Traction has covered only 35,759 km since it left the factory and stopped to be driven in the mid-80s. The engine is not seized, and it will be up to its new owner to give the car a careful cleaning and a meticulous general overhaul aiming at preserving the unique, original condition of this museum piece, which has been in the same village since 1935!
