These limited-edition Frédérique Constants are as timeless as a Riva

To mark its longstanding relationship with the Riva Historical Society, Frédérique Constant has revealed two limited edition ‘Runabout’ watches, inspired by the small and powerful wooden racers of the 1920s…

On surf and turf

Founded by architect Piero Maria Gibellini and Carlo Riva himself, the Riva Historical Society supports owners of the iconic boats in preserving their craft. Since becoming involved with the society in 2009, Frédérique Constant has created a number of exclusive nautical-themed watches, of which the Runabout is the latest. Available in both stainless steel and rose gold, the 43mm watch combines timeless Italian styling with a cutting-edge Swiss movement, visible through an exhibition caseback. Said to be a ‘reliable partner on the water’, everything from its Arabic numerals to the domed sapphire crystal scream elegance. Just 2,888 Runabouts will be built, each with the Riva Historical Society’s logo etched onto the caseback and a miniature model of the 1920s nautical icon.
