Daytona Automobil presents the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT.

Porsche’s Carrera GT remains one of the most celebrated analogue supercars of all time, blending motorsport-derived engineering with an unmatched driving experience. This example, car number 871 of 1,270 produced, was delivered new in the UK by Porsche Center Reading on June 24, 2005, before being sold to its second owner in Forst, Germany.

Finished in the striking yet understated Seal Grey Metallic over a two-tone Ascot Brown and Black Leather interior with black carpeting. The car is fitted Air Conditioning and Porsche Online Pro CD Radio, which includes a Bose sound system and Navigation. It has been meticulously maintained, with a full service history exclusively at Porsche-authorized dealerships, and it remains in exceptional condition, believed to retain its factory-original paint with no signs of previous damage. The entire front and exposed areas have been protected with PPF.

Most importantly, this Carrera GT underwent Porsche’s APA3 recall in 2024, hence it is equipped with the newly developed Michelin CUP 2 tires. This recall addressed a known issue related to the car’s suspension components, making this a crucial update for owners seeking peace of mind. Accompanied by two keys, all original manuals, a fully stamped service book, this Carrera GT presents an unmissable opportunity for the discerning collector.

Unveiled as a concept at the 2000 Paris Motor Show, the Carrera GT was a direct descendant of Porsche’s abandoned LMP2000 Le Mans prototype. Originally intended to house a turbocharged flat-six, Porsche instead opted for a naturally aspirated 5.5L V10, an engine originally developed for Formula One but never used. The decision to create a road-going supercar around this racing-derived V10 resulted in one of the most thrilling and raw driving experiences ever offered in a road car.

Development continued, and in 2003, the production Carrera GT was launched with an enlarged 5.7L V10 producing 612 PS (603 hp) at 8,000 rpm and 590 Nm of torque. Paired with a six-speed manual transmission and an ultra-lightweight ceramic clutch, the Carrera GT demands skill and precision from its driver. The monocoque chassis, subframe, and even the clutch housing were constructed from carbon fiber, resulting in a curb weight of just 1,380 kg.

Equipped with an active rear wing, a racing-style inboard pushrod suspension, and carbon-ceramic brakes, the Carrera GT was as close to a Le Mans prototype as a road car could get. In 2004, Walter Röhrl set a Nürburgring lap time of 7:28 in the Carrera GT, cementing its status as a benchmark in performance. Following the APA3 recall, Porsche re-tested the car with the new Michelin CUP 2 tires in 2024, where Jörg Bergmeister set a new lap time of 7:12.69—demonstrating that even two decades after its debut, the Carrera GT remains one of the fastest naturally aspirated road cars ever built.

With only 1,270 units ever produced, the Carrera GT has rightfully earned its place as one of the most desirable and significant Porsche models. It represents the pinnacle of analogue supercars, a pure driving experience that will likely never be replicated in today’s hybrid and electrified era. This example, featuring a sophisticated color combination, full Porsche service history, and the all-important APA3 recall completed, is one of the finest Carrera GTs available today.

For collectors seeking the ultimate Porsche, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
