Description

This AM109*318* was a symbol of luxury and performance, clothed in the elegant "Grigio Inglewood" exterior and adorned with a blue leather interior.

The factory made the chassis and sent it to Maggiora, who manufactured and fitted the body. The Berlinetta Mistral's body then went to Officine Padane for pre-assembly, including interiors, electrical circuits, glass, and fitting of doors, bonnet, and hatch, before returning to the factory for final assembly.

Under the hood, the Mistral was a beast. Initially launched with a 3.5-litre engine, most Mistrals were produced with a 3.7-litre and later a 4-litre capacity. The car featured Lucas fuel injection and a ZF five-speed transmission as standard. Some models had air conditioning and a rare three-speed Borg-Warner automatic gearbox. The Mistral's performance was exceptional, with a range of 235 kph to 255 kph, a remarkable feat for its time.

The interior of AM109*318* was a testament to Italian craftsmanship. The car's blue carpets and interior matched its "volante in legno diametro ridotto con razze normal" or small diameter wooden steering wheel with normal spokes, creating an ambience of luxury and style.

In total, 844 Mistrals were built between 1963 and 1969, with this model retiring as the last of the inline 6-cylinder evolution for Maserati.

AM109*318*'s journey began with an order on February 4th, 1965. It was delivered on April 2nd, 1965, through the dealer Max-Gil in Bologna to its first owner, Mr. Bruno Maestri in Parma. This Maserati Mistral Coupè 3700 was more than a car; it was a symbol of an era, a representation of Italian luxury and automotive excellence.
