Description

This Maserati Merak is a 3000 first series, only 830 units were produced, including right-hand drive and American specification. It comes in the rare Blue Metalized colour with Ochre leather interior and Campagnolo gold wheels that enhance the beautiful line of Giugiaro design.

This specimen is one of the last built, it reads only 19,000 miles (about 31,000 km) on the odometer.

It has a clear history: it was produced and registered in 1975, then it lived in California until 2005 unused for many years; it was then sold in Greece via the Netherlands in 2006 where it remained unused pending mechanical restoration in a private collection. After Covid, the entire collection was sold. The original service manual is present (see photo).

The paintwork looks in used conditions and in some places with normal signs of aging, but the dry climate of California has well preserved the car, that looks solid and original. Chrome bumpers are like new and perfect.

The mechanics are to be restarted. The engine is loose, and the brakes are loose and not locked; no attempt has been made to start it so as not to run the risk of causing damage to the engine. It is a preserved car that can be ready for use in no time. It has never undergone a total restoration and this is an exciting opportunity.

The feeler gauge test showed no signs of major accidents.

The ochre leather interior is in beautiful condition and the combination with the Blue colours and gold rims is really
captivating and typical of the 1970s contemporary cars from the Italian Supercar period Miura and Ferrari BB.
It features the beautiful rare dashboard of the first series with round instruments.

The underbody is in solid and original condition.
