Although Ferrari is inextricably linked to supercars and competition, the marque has a rich heritage of grand tourers. Aimed at wealthy tycoons rather than playboys, models such as the 365GT 2+2 have always offered an extraordinary mix of performance and practicality. Unveiled at the 1967 Paris Salon, the 320 horsepower, 4.4-litre V-12 could take the car to 245 km/h and handle mountain passes with aplomb. The Pininfarina lines were seductive and exotic, yet—with its roomy cabin, self-levelling independent suspension, and power steering (where fitted)—the Ferrari could cope with the rigours of family life.

Finished in silver with a beautifully mellowed cockpit, this attractive example was reputedly delivered new by Charles Pozzi. First registered on 23 January 1969, it remained in the hands of just two French owners from 1987 until 2014 (during which time it wore the registration 365 SY 51). After receiving a replacement clutch, exhaust, and other improvements, the 365 was sold to northern France in 2014, passing to The Curated Collection two years later. With fewer than 300 kilometres added to the odometer since 2016, the car presents in wonderfully preserved condition. A surprisingly practical machine—and superb value alongside its two-seater cousins—this Ferrari comes with tools, period Blaupunkt radio, and history file.
