With a total production of only 252 examples in two series, the BMW 507 Roadster is a rare car that everyone agrees is a true classic and icon of automotive design, even if few have had the privilege of experiencing the driving experience of the 3.2-liter V8-powered M507/1 in person.
The BMW 507 Roadster Series II offered here was completed in 1959 in the color Papyros and leather interior blue uni. It was registered for the first time in Switzerland in June 1960 at the Zurich Freilager customs office and then officially put on the road for the first time in March 1962.
The car was part of the collection of BMW 507 connoisseur Hans Theil from Winterthur from 1971 and for an incredible 42 years before it was bought by the last owner in 2013.
The bodywork was repainted in the original Papyros color at the beginning of the 1970s in Hans Theil's possession, and the original engine no. 40227 was also replaced at this time by the 160 hp engine no. 41199. This engine is still installed today, but the original block with no. 40227 is present and belongs to the car – matching numbers. This beautiful BMW 507 Roadster is in top-maintained, completely unrestored and breathtakingly original collector's condition with patina. Many documents and receipts from the period are present, including the original owner's manual and even an original sales brochure.

The BMW 507 is one of the most legendary and stylish roadsters ever built by BMW – a true classic with cult status. It was conceived as a luxurious sports car that was primarily intended to compete with the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. Its design is still considered one of the most beautiful automobile designs of the 1950s.
Today, the 507 is extremely sought-after – it is considered one of the most valuable BMWs ever.

Mit einer Gesamtproduktion von nur 252 Exemplaren in zwei Baureihen ist der BMW 507 Roadster ein seltenes Auto, bei dem sich alle einig sind, dass es sich um einen echten Klassiker und Ikone des Automobildesigns handelt, auch wenn nur wenige das Privileg hatten, das Fahrerlebnis des 3,2-Liter-V8-Triebwerks vom Typ M507/1 selbst zu erleben.
Der hier angebotene BMW 507 Roadster Serie II wurde im Jahr 1959 in der Farbe Papyros und Lederinterieur Blau uni fertiggestellt. Das erste Mal in der Schweiz registriert wurde er im Juni 1960 beim Zollamt Zürich-Freilager und dann im März 1962 das erste Mal offiziell in Verkehr gesetzt.
Das Auto war ab 1971 und sagenhafte 42 Jahre lang, Teil der Sammlung von BMW 507-Kenner Hans Theil aus Winterthur, bevor es dann im Jahr 2013 vom letzten Besitzer gekauft wurde.
Die Karosserie wurde Anfang der 70er Jahre, im Besitz von Hans Theil, in der Originalfarbe Papyros mal überlackiert, ebenfalls wurde der Original-Motor-Nr. 40227 in dieser Zeit durch den 160 PS starken mit der Nr. 41199 ersetzt. Dieser Motor ist auch heute noch verbaut, der Original-Block mit der Nr. 40227 ist aber vorhanden und gehört zum Auto – matching numbers. Dieser wunderschöne BMW 507 Roadster befindet sich in top gepflegtem, komplett unrestauriertem und atemberaubend originalem Sammlerzustand mit Patina. Viele Unterlagen und Belege aus der Zeit sind vorhanden, so unter anderem auch die originale Betriebsanleitung und sogar ein originaler Verkaufsprospekt.

Der BMW 507 ist einer der legendärsten und stilvollsten Roadster, die BMW je gebaut hat – ein echter Klassiker mit Kultstatus. Er wurde als luxuriöser Sportwagen konzipiert, der vor allem gegen den Mercedes-Benz 300 SL antreten sollte. Sein Design gilt bis heute als eines der schönsten Automobildesigns der 50er Jahre.
Der 507 ist heute extrem begehrt – er gilt als einer der wertvollsten BMWs überhaupt.
