The Alfa Romeo 1300 GTA Junior was introduced in June 1968, with just over 400 units produced until 1975. Chassis n° AR 776015 was purchased in 1970 by the Jolly Club of Roberto Angiolini on May 20 and registered with plate MI K92963, before being immediately prepared by Conrero. With Luigi Colzani behind the wheel, the car won the 1970 Italian Tourism Championship in the 1,15-1,3 litres class. The decisive victory came at the Coppa Carri (Monza) on October 4, where the car, number 62, appeared in several publications. For the 1971 season, it is believed that the car competed only in the 4 Ore Jolly Club at Monza. In 1972 was sold to Carlo Giani, who entered it again in the 4 Ore and in several hillclimb races. Advertised in Autosprint in August of the same year, the car was sold again in August 1977 to Luigi Rampa. Prepared by Angelini according to Group 5 specifications, the car raced until 1980, when it ceased its competitive activity. In 1996, AR 776015 was acquired by Angelini himself, who transformed the car with a 1.2-liter turbo engine derived from the Alfa Romeo 75, and it became nicknamed “Bombardino” because of the impressive noise made. The car has belonged to its current owner since 2008.
