Description

Alfa Romeo introduced the 1300 GTA Junior in June 1968.
Despite retaining the same overall capacity of 1,290 cc, the Tipo 559 engine exhibited key differences to the GT Junior's Tipo 530.
The bore and stroke were 78 x 67.5 mm, instead of 74 × 75 mm on the GT Junior.
The carburettors were larger Weber 45 instead of 40, and the cylinder head was fitted with twin plugs.
As a result, the Tipo 559 was able to deliver 96 cv at 6,000 rpm.
In addition to the engine, the junior had a steel-pressed wheels and a set of dedicated stickers.
Chassis no. AR 776142 was completed on 23 November 1973 and finished in Biancospino.
Subsequently delivered to AutoBecker in Germany, it remained unsold until 1979, when it was sold to another German dealer.
Its first private owner acquired the car and imported it to Japan in 1983 and registered it two years later.
He kept the car for 35 years before it was sold and restored in 2018 to factory Stradale specification.
Its current mileage of 52.000 km is believed to be original.
