Description

c.1954 F.B. Mondial 125cc Bialbero Racing Motorcycle
Registration no. unregistered
Frame no. unable to locate
Engine no. 120

After a promising debut in 1948, Mondial's 125cc racer was further improved for 1949 and Nello Pagani duly brought Mondial its first World Championship. Mondial's dominance of the 125 class remained just as overwhelming for the next two years, Bruno Ruffo triumphing in 1950 and Carlo Ubbiali in 1951. In 1954 Tarquinio Provini joined Mondial as a works rider and secured his first World Championship for the Italian firm in 1957, winning the 125cc category. He joined MV Agusta for 1958 and won his second and last World Championship (in the 250 class) that year.
Formerly belonging to the Enrico Bernardi Museum in Italy, this Mondial 125 is said said to be an ex-Provini machine.

As with all Lots in the Sale, this Lot is sold 'as is/where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding.
