Few marques have achieved so fine a competition record in so short a time as Mondial. After a promising debut season in 1948 which saw works rider Nello Pagani win the national Senior Championship race at Monza, Mondial's 125cc racer was further improved for 1949 and Pagani duly brought Mondial its first World Championship. Mondial's dominance of the 125 class remained just as overwhelming for the next two years, Bruno Ruffo taking the title in 1950 and Carlo Ubbiali in 1951.
Formerly part of the Enrico Bernardi museum collection in Italy and claimed to be ex-Bruno Ruffo, this Mondial bialbero racer features the early version's blade-type girder fork and plunger rear suspension. No Documents.
As with all Lots in the Sale, this Lot is sold 'as is/where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding.
