Rétromobile Paris marks the traditional start to the automotive calendar as one of the year’s biggest and most bombastic car events. This year, Fiskens has returned in force, flooding the French capital with no less than 14 incredible collector cars spanning almost three quarters of a century. Pre-war fans can’t miss the 1935 Alfa Romeo 8C with its exquisitely recreated Touring Le Mans-style body, while the 1950s are well-represented by the incredible Maserati A6G Zagato and Bentley S1 ‘Honeymoon Express’ with its unique Freestone & Webb coachwork.
There are plenty of icons from the 1960s to admire at the Fiskens stand too, including the 1960 Jaguar E2A Le Mans Prototype that bridged the gap between the D and E Type, and one of just two Ford GT40s driven by Carroll Shelby himself. Meanwhile, an exquisitely restored Rosso Cina Ferrari 275 GTB is representing Italy alongside one of only 22 Iso Grifos blessed with riveted alloy bodywork by Piero Drogo.
However, arguably the most exciting cars on display belong to the late 1990s and early 2000s, such as the 1998 Silverstone 500 kms-winning Mercedes CLK GTR, the first of the 10 Ferrari 550 Maranello Prodrives ever built, and the legendary 2001 Audi R8 LMP 900. We think you’ll agree, it’s a dazzling array of metal and carbon fibre, and we can’t wait to soak up all the history and mechanical mastery in person!
