The stunning 1962 SWB Cal’ Spider has recently been offered for sale by UK dealer Tom Hartley – and is set to become the second blue-chip Ferrari the company has sold this year, after finding a new owner for a 250 Testa Rossa in February. The 52nd of only 55 SWB California Spiders built, it’s rarer still because of its open headlights (18 of these cars were produced) and matching numbers across the board. As well as carrying the title of Best in Class at Villa d’Este 2011, it’s also Classiche-certified following a full restoration undertaken in Italy. The price is available only on request but, as a guide, a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT California Spider LWB was earlier this year sold at auction by RM for $8.8 million – and the SWB is regarded as the more desirable variant.
