For many of us it remains the bike of the police, the Tour de France or the newspaper delivery men. But the 2nd serie was the main reason for BMW's rescue in the early sixties. Its reliability, sturdiness and behaviour will seduce thousands of motorcyclists. It must be said, everything is set like clockwork: a hint of gas, a few pressures of the finger on the carburettors, a stroke on the kick and the flat-twin plays its part like a metronome.
On this bike, the R60 series 2 frame and mechanics are as original with the addition of a series 5 fork to replace the original Earles. The rim is also from a 5 series as is the front braking system while the rear is from a 2nd series. Aesthetically, the Ducati 750 Sport tank, custom aluminium mudguards, adjustable Tommaselli straps and a larger modern front light add to the sporty look. Mechanically, a Kennedy electronic ignition has been fitted and the 30hp of the R60/2 makes this radical looking bike very smooth.
