This 1967 BMW R60/2, chassis #1812155, is a highly original and largely untouched example that runs and rides very well. The bike displays a fantastic time-worn patina throughout, with almost all of the original and correct components still equipped, including hard-to-find items. The odometer reads 7,881 miles, and while the mileage cannot be confirmed, the bike's untouched condition suggests these miles may be original.

The R60/2 is equipped with some great options, including a Schorsch Meier fuel tank, bar end turn signals, a lower crash bar, and a solo saddle seat. It also has a period-correct aftermarket exhaust that gives it a more aggressive sound. Chassis 2155 was built on 1/4/1967 and delivered to Butler & Smith on 7/19/1967.

The current owner and consignor, a certified "airhead junky," recently acquired this example in October 2021 from a short-term owner who had purchased it from an estate where it had been owned for over 30 years. The bike had clearly been sitting in protected storage, given its current cosmetic condition and overall solid state. With some basic servicing, including rebuilding the carburetors, changing fluids, and replacing tires and bulbs, the R60/2 fired right up and is now running and riding very well.

While the bike shows some obvious imperfections due to its original, untouched nature, it represents a unique find in today's collectible motorcycle market - a running, riding example with a wonderful "barn-find" aesthetic. This R60/2 would make an excellent candidate for preservation, as all the hard-to-find parts are already present. Alternatively, it could be a strong starting point for a full restoration, should the new owner choose to pursue that route. Regardless, the bike's distinct patina and character are sure to turn heads and prompt conversations wherever its future riders take it.
