Beschreibung
The Aston Martin Vanquish represented a bridge between classic craftsmanship and modern manufacturing techniques. Each car was hand-built at Aston Martin's Newport Pagnell facility, blending traditional methods of coachbuilding with cutting-edge technology. With only 1486 units produced, the Vanquish has since become a collector's item, symbolizing both the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter in Aston Martin’s evolution towards modern supercars.
No car stands any chance of being a great car without a great engine, and the Vanquish certainly packs the house in that department. The 5.9 liter V12 is a masterpiece. Peak horsepower arrives at 6500 rpm and the 460 Ps are enough to push it past 306 km/h with a 4.6 second sprint fromo 0 to 100 km/h! The engine is common on other Aston products, but it had unique intake and exhaust manifolding for the Vanquish, and while it sounds great in a DB9 or a V12 Vantage, it’s somehow more visceral, more vocal, more vital in the Vanquish.
This was also the first Aston with an automated manual transmission and paddles, the system dubbed ASM (standing for Auto Shift Manual). Essentially it was a six-speed manual Tremec transaxle with electro-hydraulic clutch actuation, thus doing away with the clutch pedal. You can put the car in full auto mode, but it feels happier being manually shifted.
The car’s appearance in ‘Die Another Day’ ensured its place in James Bond history and has helped to make this an instantly recognizable model. As soon as you get in, you get an extra special feeling. It took 'only' eight Conolly cows to give the Vanquish its beautifully distinctive interior. As soon as you sit down you understand why Pierce Brosnan chose the Vanquish!
This Vanquish was delivered to its first owner in Portugal, in December of 2006. It stayed with the same owner until 2009 and was then bought by a gentleman who only drove it on special occasions. As a result, the vehicle had a very low mileage – just 25,900 km.
This particular Vanquish is one of the last to leave the factory and is fitted with some interesting options, such as the Grey Brake Callipers, Centre Console Storage Box, Heated Front and Electrically Adjustable Seats, Rear Parking Sensors, Integral Telephone system(Motorola/ Aston Martin) and a 2+2 seating arrangement.
