Beschreibung
2000 Porsche 996 RSR GT2
Delivered new to famous Swiss Porsche team Haberthur Racing, chassis WP0ZZZ99ZYS692073 was immediately pressed into action at the 2000 Daytona 24hr, where it won its class. That same summer, it became the iconic 2000 Le Mans 24hr ‘bonnet flip’ car, completing a whole lap with the bonnet pinned against the windscreen (which was missing having been kicked out in the pitstop!).
Upgraded in period to full RSR spec by Eurotech and uniquely re-homologated in right-hand-drive and raced in 2005 FIA GT (we believe it is the one and only RHD RSR of its generation).
Today, the car is equipped with a fresh engine and gearbox, and is a the perfect entry for Le Mans Classic and Peter Auto’s ERL GT2. You have to hope the selectors will want the legendary ‘bonnet flip’ car back to La Sarthe 25 years after its incredible lap…
The 996 is one of the all-time great Porsches in terms of international results and is the most dominant GT2 car ever.
