Beschreibung
Beautiful OM "Superba" 665 SMM (Sport Mille Miglia) with a short wheelbase Sport version (wheelbase 2,790 mm), featuring a Mille Miglia engine and Cadogan bodywork.
This car left the OM workshops in the first half of 1928, then sold in England through Rawlence Imports, who purchased it as a bare chassis, as was the case with almost all OM cars destined for the Anglo-Saxon market. It was then bodied by the English specialist Cadogan and first registered in England on January 26, 1929, with the original license plate that still adorns the car today.
It remained in the possession of the first owner until 1935, before being sold in Ireland. After changing hands several times, it was purchased in 1959 by the English Maxwell Hill family, who held onto it until 1995.
From 1995 until 2000, it went through various owners in Northern Ireland before making its way to Italy when it was purchased in 2005. An English enthusiast, experienced in vintage cars, was tasked with conducting thorough research in order to gather as much data as possible, thus enabling a meticulous restoration that began in 2008 and was completed at the end of March 2014.
Following the restoration, the car was registered in Italy and certified by ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) with the prestigious "Targa Oro" award, the highest accolade for the quality and originality of the restoration. Ready for any use, the car has already won several prestigious concours d'elegance and is prepared to participate in the most esteemed classic car events, including the Mille Miglia.
