The 2019 Mercedes-AMG S65 Final Edition marked a significant milestone as the culmination of Mercedes-Benz's V12 engine program in the S-Class sedan. Unveiled in March 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show, the Final Edition served as both a celebration of the V12 S-Class lineage and a harbinger of the forthcoming W223-generation model, with production strictly limited to just 130 examples worldwide.

Each Final Edition was finished in sophisticated Obsidian Black Metallic paint, complemented by carefully selected bronze accents on the rocker panels and bumpers, matched by matte bronze 20-inch forged wheels. The interior appointments reflected the same attention to detail, with Black Nappa leather upholstery enhanced by copper contrast stitching and carbon fiber trim woven with copper-colored thread. Each example carried a "1 of 130" plaque on the center console, while pre-configured copper-colored ambient lighting created a warm, sophisticated atmosphere. Mechanically, the Final Edition retained the formidable bitubo V12 engine that had become synonymous with the S 65 AMG. Producing 621 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, this powerplant enabled the sedan to achieve 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. In addition, the AMG Driver's Package, included as standard equipment, electronically raised the car's maximum velocity to 186 mph. The attention to detail also extended into the engine compartment itself, where Mercedes-AMG honored its "One Man - One Engine" philosophy with a specially designed engine builder's plaque finished in exclusive black rather than the traditional silver.

Delivered through Mercedes-Benz BERESA Bielefeld, digital order documentation shows that in addition to the S 65's lofty €201,150 base price, the AMG Final Edition package commanded an additional €35,000 when new.
