Crit'Air 1, authorised to circulate in all French cities
The model on offer is a 300 SEL 3.5, introduced in 1969 with a new 200bhp V8 engine, more compact and affordable than the legendary 6.3. This car was delivered new in Paris on 24 January 1972, by the Delaizement garage in the 17th arrondissement. In early 1973, it was bought by Docteur Coirault, the current owner's uncle.
In 1998, a Borel LPG system was installed. It appears to have been maintained ever since. This enabled this Mercedes Benz to display a Crit'Air 1 sticker, which is essential for driving in all French cities. In 2000, a major bodywork overhaul was carried out, as shown in a photo file. Since then, the car has been regularly serviced, with overhauls of the running gear, brakes, transmission and other components over the years. Recently, the automatic gearbox, power steering, air suspension and cooling system have been overhauled or replaced.
