Daytona Automobil presents the Lamborghini Murciélago LP750 by Edo Competition, an exceptionally rare and highly modified version of one of Lamborghini’s most iconic models. The Murciélago has always been one of our favorite V12 Lamborghinis, particularly in its LP640 form. But after getting behind the wheel of this LP750, it is a completely different experience. It still feels OEM in how the power is delivered, yet the transformation is undeniable. The power surge over 7000 rpm is staggering, and the sound is brutally loud at high revs. For those who love the stock LP640, this is something they need to experience.
Finished in Balloon White, this example is visually enhanced with the full SV body kit in matte carbon fiber, SV bucket seats, SV carbon door panels, and alcantara carpets. It rides on dark bronze-toned 20-inch Rotiform NEK wheels, framing yellow brake calipers and wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The most recent service was completed in July 2024, and the car remains in perfect condition throughout.
Founded by Edo Karabegovic, Edo Competition became one of the most well-regarded tuning specialists for supercars. Edo himself started his career working with Ferrari and Porsche race cars before turning his focus to refining and enhancing road-going exotics. The company gained international recognition for its engineering expertise, with upgrades tailored to maximize power, handling, and aerodynamics without compromising drivability.
Edo Competition worked extensively on brands like Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, and Lamborghini, with some of their most famous projects including the Maserati MC12 Corsa conversion, Porsche Carrera GT upgrades, and their extensive work on the Murciélago. Their attention to detail and engineering precision ensured that every vehicle they modified delivered both extreme performance and reliability.
The LP750 package was developed as Edo’s ultimate send-off for the Murciélago, pushing its performance beyond what Lamborghini originally envisioned. Edo’s focus was to extract maximum power and precision while maintaining the car’s naturally aspirated character. The result is a N/A V12 masterpiece, delivering an astonishing 750 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque.
The LP750 upgrade includes extensive mechanical modifications:
- Engine & Intake System: Edo Competition reworked the cylinder heads, added aggressive camshafts, and installed racing-grade bucket tappets to optimize airflow and combustion. A redesigned high-flow airbox and custom intake manifold further enhance air mass flow, increasing high-rev performance.
- Exhaust System: A handcrafted stainless-steel exhaust system with high-performance headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and a new muffler system.
- ECU & Fuel Mapping: Custom ECU tuning ensures optimal fuel, ignition, and cam timing, maximizing performance while maintaining factory-like driveability. Despite the increased power, the LP750 still feels OEM in how it delivers its power.
- Drivetrain & Transmission: Edo developed a reinforced single-plate clutch to handle the increased torque. The transmission mapping was also revised, making shifts sharper and more responsive.
The result of these modifications is staggering. The LP750 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 9.7 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 365 km/h—figures that place it firmly in hypercar territory. The engine revs freely to redline, delivering an electrifying rush of power at the top end.
With Edo Competition ceasing operations in 2023, no more LP750 conversions will be made, making this an exceptionally rare opportunity. The Murciélago is already one of the most iconic supercars of its era, and this may be the best version of it. It combines the best elements of the LP640 with raw, motorsport-grade enhancements that make it one of the most thrilling Lamborghinis to drive.
