Beschreibung
- Fully restored in its original Opalescent Silver Blue, completed in early 2024
- U.S. delivery example, a California resident since 1964.
- Acquired from over five decades of single ownership by the consignor in 2015
- A lovely example of what is arguably Jaguar’s most iconic automobile.
Finished just as you see it today, in Opalescent Silver Blue over a Dark Blue leather interior, this 3.8-Litre Fixed Head Coupe was completed by Jaguar on February 12, 1964. Immediately dispatched to Jaguar’s distributor in New York it was and subsequently sold to a leasing company. The car was shipped west to California where it was purchased by a gentleman residing in Manhattan Beach in the mid-1960s, who would go on to own the car for over five decades, only parting with it when selling to the consignor in 2015, also a Los Angeles resident.
Having been in static storage for approximately fifteen years before the current owner’s purchase, it was decided that the E-Type would be fully restored to its as-delivered specification. Restored by the consignor and Joe Cano, a friend who works as a restorer, over a period of ten years as a labor of love, no stone was left unturned in returning the car to as it was when it left the factory. Numerous invoices accounting for this are available in the history file. Finished in Primrose Yellow when purchased by the consignor, it was returned to its original colors scheme of Opalescent Silver Blue over Dark Blue leather, and the work was completed in 2024.
Since the completion of the restoration, the E-Type has accrued minimal milage since and it presents in beautiful condition throughout, as a spectacular example of Jaguar’s most iconic automobile. Confirmed to retain its original chassis, cylinder head, engine block, gearbox, and bodywork by the accompanying Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, this would be a fabulous E-Type to use and enjoy as its manufacturers intended.
