HISTORY
The Ferrari 275 GTB Long Nose is a legendary grand touring car produced between 1964 and 1966, with only 205 units ever built, making it highly coveted among collectors. Featuring a longer front end than the earlier “Short Nose” variant, it was designed to improve aerodynamics and stability at high speeds. Powered by a 3.3-liter V12 engine, it delivers an exhilarating driving experience, with an iconic design characterized by smooth lines and classic Italian craftsmanship. The Long Nose version is particularly sought after for its improved handling, rare features, and limited production, cementing its place as one of Ferrari’s most revered models.
OUR 275 GTB
Our 275 GTB was built in August 1966 and originally imported to the USA by Luigi Chinetti Motors in New York. That same year, it was delivered to William F. Harrah’s West Coast Ferrari dealership, Modern Classic Motors, in Reno, Nevada. In 1968, chassis 08863 found its way to the Jeff Wood family in Portland, where it remained until 2021, showing 43,230 miles on the odometer.
Today, chassis 08863 is owned by a prominent German collector and presents in its original color scheme of Rosso Chiaro over a Pelle Rossa interior with cloth inserts. The Ferrari Classiche Certificate, issued in 2022, confirms that the 275 retains its original matching numbers engine and gearbox, and original colors. Never fully restored, this example stands as one of the most original Long Nose variants in existence, still featuring its original leather interior and even hand-written body numbers beneath the carpets—something rarely seen.
Recently in 2021/2022, the 275 was treated to preservation work carried out by Bacchelli & Villa in Italy, including a comprehensive service (engine, transmission, clutch, brakes, etc.) as well as a fresh repaint in the original color, galvanization of the chromes, and reupholstering of the cloth (middle section of the seats). The leather in the interior remains original.
In May 2022, chassis 08863 won Platinum Award for the Best 12 Cylinder Ferrari at Cavallino Classic in Modena.
Given its low number of owners and remarkable preservation, this 275 GTB represents an extraordinary find. The 275 retains its original books and tools, and a substantial documentation including invoices and the Massini report. The car is available for inspection by appointment at our showroom in Munich.
