It shook up the Paris showroom floor in 1964 when two new models made their appearance. On one side, the closed GTB, a fantastically styled coupe. On the other side, the GTS, its open brother. Both share the same chassis, with a beautifully welded tubular frame. Fully independent suspension with Dunlop disc brakes all around and Koni shock absorbers. Under the elongated hood of both cars lies the 3.3-litre 'Colombo' V12 engine, with the Spider delivering a power of 260 hp and the closed GTB even reaching 280 hp.

Both models were also characterized by a transaxle setup, with the five-speed gearbox placed between the rear wheels, providing independent rear wheel suspension. The 275 GTB was the first Ferrari built according to this method.
The design of the GTB was completely new, unlike the GTS, which was loosely based on the 330 GT. The GTB was designed by Pininfarina but built by Scaglietti.

The goal of the GTB? According to Ferrari, the GTB was designed to offer both touring and racing capabilities. It could be equipped with three carburettors (like this 275 model, which was homologated for competition by the FIA) or six. Even the body had options: steel or aluminium. Lightweight Campagnolo wheels were standard, while Borrani wire wheels were an option.
In 1965, the second series was introduced in Paris, featuring a slightly longer nose and smaller air intake. At the Brussels Motor Show shortly thereafter, different alloy wheels were fitted, and the driveshaft was enclosed in a torsion tube. Approximately 250 Series I and 200 Series II 275 GTB models were produced in total.

The body of this GTB went to Scaglietti in January, and the engine and chassis were ready a month later. Another month passed, and the car was ready for delivery at Crepaldi Milano in Italy. The beautiful Shortnose 275 GTB you see here was delivered to its first owner in Argento 18940 M. Alongside the grey paint, he chose an interior executed in Nero VM 8500 with grey fabric. After exploring the roads in Italy for several years, the 275 went to the United States to spend a few decades there.
This 275, equipped with a Spacem exhaust system, naturally comes with a Massini report and is a matching numbers car.

This Shortnose model has a remarkable history, which is evident from the extensive documentation available. Each owner has taken careful care of the car's history, resulting in the presence of purchase and sale invoices, as well as numerous documents. Additionally, there are unique handwritten letters from sellers to buyers, in which they explain the car's history and wish the new owner much enjoyment with the vehicle. It's fascinating to read. Not only for us but especially for the future owner, who can learn about how the previous owners treated the car. The Italian registration documents are also included.

In summary, this 275 GTB Shortnose with a steel body and equipped with the three-carburettor configuration is a matching numbers car with a complete Marcel Massini report and is in more than excellent condition.
