Beschreibung
FACEL VEGA FACEL II 6.7 V8 390CV 1964 - This Grand Tourer was presented to the public for the first time at the Paris Motor Show in 1961. Facel SA advertised the Facel II as ‘the fastest 4-place coupé in the world’. The magazine of the time ‘Sports Car Graphic’ described the model as a ‘luxurious brute’. Certainly one of the most iconic French models. An exclusive feature of the Facel II was the curved, wraparound dashboard made of metal but meticulously painted to look like wood, with buttons and instrument panel inspired by the cockpits of aeroplanes of the time. Equipped with an exclusive range of equipment for a high level of luxury, comfort and safety, including Hydrosteer hydraulic power steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, full leather seats, electric windows and a radio aerial. Mechanically, the Facel II is powered by a 6.7 litre Chrysler Typhoon RB Wedge V8 engine with 390 hp, capable of reaching a top speed close to 250 km/h. The Facel II is perhaps the most special model in the company's 25-year history, with qualities that were also reflected in the price, costing approximately 3 times more than a Jaguar E-Type at the time. Add to that the fact that our example combines a 6.7 litre engine and a rare and optional Pont-a-Mousson manual gearbox, and you have an exclusive production run of around 17 examples.
. It was sold and delivered new in France, having been in the possession of the last owner for around 44 years. Over the last four years it has undergone a detailed and exhaustive restoration process (duly documented with invoices and a photo report of all the stages). It is presented in an elegant combination, with a ‘Bleu Facel Irisé’ Blue exterior and Camel interior. Factory team, Borrani wheels and exterior chrome package
