This beautiful example of the final C2 Stingray coupe offers overwhelming originality and desirable documentation, including the original tank sticker. According to the manufacturer’s option list that was famously glued to the gas tank, this car was equipped with a 390 HP engine, four-speed manual gearbox, Positraction rear axle, am/fm radio, and tinted windows.

Completed in March 1967, the Corvette was finished in Marlboro Maroon paint with a black stinger hood, an indication of the prodigious 427 cid engine. Retailed through Daniels Chevrolet in Colorado (whose emblem remains affixed to the rear), the car was purchased in 1977 by Gary and Sharon Sauers of Colorado Springs, at which point the odometer displayed 38,850 miles.

In early 2003, the Stingray was sold to Steve Peeples of Derby, Kansas, and it later passed to enthusiast Jeffrey Naami of Cary, Illinois. Mr. Naami presented the car at a 2007 Bloomington Gold event, where it won the prestigious Survivor Award, a “certificate of historic preservation.” In its most recent outing, at the May 2015 NCRS meet in Latrobe, the Corvette earned a Second Flight Award.

Accompanied by the original jack, spare wheel, and owner’s manual, this highly authentic Stingray currently displays less than 50,000 original miles, and is believed to retain its important original mechanical equipment, interior, and a majority of the factory paint. It would beautifully complement any collection, and is poised for further preservation-class competition at Corvette gatherings.
