Beschreibung
In the early 2000s, BMW brought us iconic models such as the E46-generation M3 and E39-generation M5, which ushered in a golden era for BMW’s road-going performance cars. The pinnacle, however, was the Z8 – a limited-edition, two- seat roadster designed by the famed Henrik Fisker. Its aluminum monocoque space frame, which kept weight to a minimum, underpins its sleek body shell reminiscent of BMW’s incredible 507 of the late 1950s. Performance was also key to its success; under its long hood sat the famed S62 4.9-liter V-8, producing 394 hp, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
This Z8 is finished in Black over a two-tone Crema and Black interior and was delivered new to its first owner in Beverly Hills, California. Just 1,000 miles would be added to the odometer before it was sold to its long-term second owner in 2005. During this period, the roadster was fastidiously maintained, with each service completed at an authorized BMW dealership and numerous supporting records accompany it to this day. By 2022, just 8,938 miles had been accumulated – evidence of a pampered Southern California existence. Showing just 9,361 miles when catalogued, it is accompanied by its factory hardtop and stand, car cover, owner’s manuals, a copy of its window sticker, and additional factory accessories. The very definition of a modern classic, and with impeccable ownership and maintenance history, it will surely make an exceptional and exhilarating addition to any collector’s garage.
