Beschreibung
Chassis No. WBAEJ134X1AH61007
The BMW Z8 emerged from the celebrated Z07 Concept of 1997, representing Henrik Fisker's masterful reinterpretation of BMW's iconic 507. This spiritual successor manifested as a svelte, two-seat gentleman's roadster, featuring purposeful lines crafted in hand-finished aluminum coachwork, underpinned by a sophisticated spaceframe chassis. The powertrain showcased BMW Motorsport's "S62" DOHC 32-valve 4.9-liter V8 engine rated at 394 horsepower and 370 lb-ft of torque, enabling zero to 60 mph acceleration in 4.7 seconds through an engaging Getrag six-speed manual transmission. Limited to just 5,703 units worldwide with only 2,543 examples designated for the U.S. market, the Z8's rarity has made it a highly sought-after grand tourer and modern collectible in its own right.
This representative example of Fisker's timeless design was assembled on 23 May 2001 as one of only 342 Z8s to leave Munich finished in Jet Black with a striking Sport Red/Black Nappa leather interior. The car was reportedly purchased new via Schomp BMW in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, with the accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report showing that the car was initially registered in August 2001. Over the succeeding two decades, the BMW remained in Colorado with the original owner and subsequently his son, returning to Schomp BMW occasionally for regular maintenance. This included a comprehensive service at Schomp in September of 2023 at a cost of $8,491.32, which encompassed a replacing the fuel pump, rear driveshaft CV joint, hood and trunk struts, spark plugs, power steering pump and lines, as well as a full fluids and filters change.
In 2024, showing a remarkably low 7,178 miles from new, the Z8 passed to its second and current owner based in Nevada. This investment-grade example is now offered with fewer than 7,200 total miles and numerous coveted Z8 accessories as one would expect of a carefully preserved, two-owner car. These include its matching Jet Black hardtop with a stand and Z8-branded storage cover, serialized coffee table book, BMW Motorola StarTAC mobile phone, Sport Red leather wind deflector, tool roll, first aid kit, owner's manuals, and four keys (including the valet key) with a leather key pouch.
A pristine example of BMW's halo model of the early 2000s, this low-mileage Z8 is offered in a timelessly elegant color scheme and has been the recipient of careful long-term ownership since new. It is most certainly one of the finest examples of this modern classic available anywhere-a rare opportunity for the most discerning BMW collector.
