The M3 E30 is the first version of a true automotive myth, still on the market today. Designed in the mid 80's to restore the brand's reputation in competition and to compete with the Mercedes 190E 2.3 16 and the Ford Sierra Cosworth, the recipe used by the tuner Motorsport is still the same: based on the small 3 series sedan, preparing the engine in a masterly way and sharpening the chassis. The result is also always the same: a car that can be used on a daily basis and capable of setting fast times on the track.
As for the engine, it is Paul Rosche who will give birth to a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine developing 195 horsepower that will allow the M3 E30 to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and to reach 240 km/h.
With a shortened 2-cylinder crankshaft, higher engine speeds can be achieved (up to 10,000 rpm in a race) with maximum reliability. The 4-cylinder block of the M3 E30 also had a career in F1 back in the days of turbocharged engines in Brabham-BMWs.
The Getrag 5-speed gearbox and the self-locking differential are a perfect match for this engine and the sporty chassis.
A little overachiever in its class, it won the DTM championship in Germany and numerous rallies.

Our M3 is of French origin and left the factory on July 2, 1987.
