The Alfetta GTV name was launched in 1976 when the two-liter engine version was launched, which could produce up to 122 horsepower. The specifications called for a body that could comfortably accommodate four passengers instead of the traditional 2+2, with the added bonus of a trunk large enough for travel. All this was aimed at competing with compact sports sedans with similar performance and a good level of comfort.
The example presented here, a 1980 GTV 2000, benefited from €5,000 of maintenance work in 2023, including overhaul of the rear axle, partial restoration of the underbody and repainting of the running gear. The exhaust and transmission were also dismantled, checked and reassembled with new parts, including the replacement of the flex discs.
A few items still need to be addressed, such as play in the rear axle, rebalancing of the braking system and repair of the speedometer. Nevertheless, this example is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiast wishing to enjoy this Alfa Romeo coupé with its assertive temperament.
