Beschreibung
With a clear, no questions, continuous history from new, confirmed by the ACOC; COB 6044 offers the rare opportunity to acquire a genuine Cobra prepared to competitive race winning specification while still retaining its all important originality.
A point proven indefatigably by taking such a defining victory in the crown jewel of all historic races, Goodwood’s prestigious Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy.
Driven to pole position in the 2019 TT by Porsche Works Driver and three time Le Mans 24 Hour winner and FIA World Endurance Champion, André Lotterer. His staggering pole lap of 1:24.073 is still the fastest ever recorded lap for a Cobra around the hallowed Goodwood circuit. He and the owner Chris Wilson went on to convert their pole position to outright victory in one of the most exciting TTs in a number of years.
Consigned to K.N. Rudd Ltd. of Byfleet in 1965, it still bears the registration SHK 670D which it has had since 1966 and has been maintained professionally from new, as documented in the extensive history file that features the original buff log book, service history back to 12,000 miles, invoices back to 1976, MOT certificates back to 1977, current FIA Papers as well as a spare set of Halibrand wheels, and removable single roll hoop.
First prepared for historic racing by well known Cobra racer Bill Bridges and prepared to TT winning specification by Ian Gwynne and his team at BGMsport and subsequently maintained by Pearsons Engineering. Invoices totalling in excess of £200k give an indication of the level to which COB 6044 has been prepared.
Fast exciting and a pleasure to drive, this is a desirable entry to the prestigious selection of tours, rallies, and races worldwide such as the Tour Auto, Goodwood Revival, Masters Gentleman Drivers’, GTSCC, and Peter Auto’s 60s Endurance to name but a few.
This is your chance to pick up the mantel and experience historic racing at its highest level.
