An 8-liter V10 under a huge hood. 335/35R17 tires at the rear that have to get the power to the asphalt without any aids. Two seats, a small steering wheel and a lever that operates the six-speed manual gearbox: these are ingredients that we can hardly imagine today, but in 1993 Dodge proposed exactly this recipe, in a great jacket.

That jacket was presented in concept form in 1989, as a modern interpretation of the AC Cobra. That was the message from Chrysler boss Bob Lutz to designer Tom Gale. However, the reactions to the car were so sensational that it was decided to put the car into production: the Dodge Viper was born. In 1991, Caroll Shelby drove a pre-production Viper as a pace car in the Indianapolis 500. Not much later, the first production cars were built and delivered.

Initially the intention was to equip the Viper with a V8 engine, but when working on the power source together with Lamborghini, it was decided that it could be a bit more powerful. The result is a 7,990 cc V10. Good 400 hp and capable of catapulting the Viper to 100 kilometers per hour in just over 4 seconds. Traction control? ABS? No, you can arrange it yourself!
The result is a car that is known as a real 'man's car'. Lots of experience, lots of sound, an impressive appearance and exciting driving characteristics: this is not a car that you send to the bakery on a lazy Sunday morning.

While most Vipers are red, black or blue, the one you see here is in stylish silver gray. This is combined with cognac-colored Conolly leather, a combination that was only chosen about 50 times in the year of production. It makes the Viper an extreme sports car with a luxurious appearance. The dashboard houses two large meters for speed and rpm, while four smaller meters are housed in the middle. What is also striking is the extremely wide center tunnel, in which the shift lever of the six-speed gearbox is located.

This RT/10, where RT stands for Road and Track and the 10 is of course a reference to the number of cylinders, is from 1999. So it is a somewhat later example. As a result, the buyer benefits from a real hardtop, which cannot be taken with you in the car. The power has also increased in that year from 400 to 456 hp. The Viper RT/10 is known as a reliable car with a solid ten-cylinder engine. It helps even more that this very beautiful Viper, which came to the Netherlands in 2011, has only driven 58,000 kilometers. A car with history, including numerous documents from America, where the car was originally delivered. The original service and instruction booklets are present, as well as various invoices for maintenance work.

The condition of the Viper can be described as 'exceptionally good', with paintwork without damage, beautiful original 18” wheels, a beautiful leather interior and technology that is phenomenal. In fact, we can be brief about it: the car is free of defects, whether in the bodywork, the interior or the technology. A car that has been in the hands of enthusiasts who have cherished it, which is why the car has also been featured in an extensive report in a car magazine.

A unique car that will undoubtedly become much more popular in the near future.
