Description
Built between 1962 and 1966, the Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider was the company’s flagship model, powered by a twin-cam inline six-cylinder engine. Bodied by Touring, these Spiders were designed as grand touring cars and featured luxurious interiors geared towards long-distance driving.
This 1966 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider by Touring is the third to last car built and displays a number of period options rarely seen on other examples. Benefiting from a multiyear restoration that was finished in 2022, this 2600 Spider is in exceptional condition and ready for the show circuit.
Taken down to bare metal, this 2600 Spider was repainted in a stunning shade of light blue metallic , paired with an interior covered in linen-colored leather. The dashboard, while typically vinyl, has been covered in blue leather, creating a striking interior visual in concert with the dark blue carpet and seat piping. The motor was rebuilt by marque experts Motorcraft in Indiana. As a late-production car, the cam covers are finished in metallic green and a rare set of higher-performing Weber carburetors were installed from the factory. Additionally, it is offered with an optional hardtop from the factory – a rare piece that is complemented by the new blue convertible top.
With just over 2,250 of these Spiders built, finding one in top condition is rare. With a stunning restoration and included coveted options, this is a unique opportunity to own one of Alfa Romeo’s greatest grand touring convertibles.
