Description
Aston Martin DB4 Series IV 1961
"When you add performance to elegance, ASTON MARTIN is the only answer..."
The lightweight superleggera (tubular frame) body was designed by Carrozzeria Touring in Milan, at the 1958 London Motor Show its continental appearance caused a sensation at its unveiling. Although the design and construction techniques were Italian, the DB4 was the first Aston to be built at the company's factory in Newport Pagnell in Buckinghamshire, England.
And will you now join us back in time?
More precisely ... back to 1961, as Mr E.R. Nichold ordered this left-hand drive Aston Martin DB4 from his local Aston dealer in the US. It was newly delivered on 20 October, thus a series IV, and fitted with stylish Touring 'Superleggera' design saloon bodywork. The perfect match of ' California Sage' exterior colour over a Tan interior if you ask me. Mr Nichold must have been utterly exhilarated about his new toy!
The (matching) aluminium 3.7L strong 6-cylinder engine, combined with the four-speed manual transmission, made driving this DB4 a real pleasure. Moreover, the DB4 came standard with servo-assisted disc brakes, ball-joint wishbones and power steering. Even 60 years later, being behind the wheel is a pleasure!
The factory shape confirms the cosmetic presentation plus the mechanical parts are matching originals. Likely the finest British sports car which blends stylishness, leading-edge engineering, comfort and vigorous handling sensations.
We believe it will not take long for an Aston Martin enthusiast to understand that the opportunity to acquire this exquisite machine is not to be missed....
