Bigger is better for the Marc Newson and Louis Vuitton collaboration

Following last year’s unveiling of the initial fruits of this heady design partnership, industrial design innovator Marc Newson has now made his mark on the classic Louis Vuitton check-in case…

As is expected from any Marc Newson product, the Horizon collection is a blend of form and function. The first four-wheeled cases with an entirely flat rear shell, thanks to a repositioned extendable handle, the Horizon collection check-in cases are endowed with increased structural strength and packing space. With a continued injection of 21st-century technology into vintage aesthetics, each case features a tracking system, allowing owners to check if their luggage has arrived at the airport through the LV Pass app. Of course, timeless Louis Vuitton hallmarks, such as natural cowhide leather corners, remain, but this fresh take on a classic is surely as good an example of unity in design as you’re likely to find — what else would you expect from these two masters?
