Available only in the famous Knightsbridge store's ‘Harrods Technology’ department, just 12 bespoke Globetrotter cases complete with the very latest Fuji X-Pro 1 camera body and three lenses (plus hoods and filters) will be produced.
For £5,695, the dozen fortunate buyers will get the highly rated Fuji digital camera system with its ‘retro’ look concealing cutting-edge technology, all set in a Globetrotter vulcanised fibreboard case.
The British company Globetrotter, founded in 1897 by Englishman David Nelken and based in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, makes its cases using a process unchanged for 115 years. Fourteen layers of specially bonded paper, coloured to specification, are formed to make the basic shape. Using brass rivets and tan leather strapping, the famous Globetrotter ‘look’ and the cases’ legendary sturdiness is achieved.

The Fuji X-Pro 1 is a compact system camera (CSC) with a 16.3-million pixel sensor. It is available with three lenses: 18mm f/2, 35mm f/1.4 and 60mm f/2.4 macro. These approximate to a focal length of 27mm, 53mm and 91mm on a full-frame, 35mm camera.
