This month, deep in the beating heart of Italian culture, heritage and charm, a brand-new concours event is set to dazzle lovers of supercars, classic cars and forgotten legends with the debut of the Anantara Concorso Roma. Forget the plethora of PTS-shaded Porsches, leave that glistening golden-era Mercedes-Benz in the garage, for this event celebrates the hometown heroes, and only Italian icons are on show.
Thankfully for us, Italy has produced some of the greatest cars of all time, meaning the glamourous debut of Anantara Hotels & Resort’s event taking place from 24th to the 27th of April will be one to remember. Expect to soak in the views of a carefully curated line-up of the very best Italian masterpieces ever assembled in one place, while learning the complete story of the Italian sports and racing car, featuring gorgeous models from Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Pagani and many more. Despite the organisers remaining extremely tight-lipped on what will dazzle the streets of Roma in April, we managed to discover that the celebrated two-time Le Mans-winning 1963 Ferrari 275 P is one of the first entries to be announced. With this historic machine on the roster, we can only assume the rest of the entrants are just as special!
Aside from the icons of Italian car production, the packed weekend programme celebrates the best of Italian hospitality, cuisine and craftsmanship. Partnering with Technogym, the event offers an exclusive health and wellbeing experience for Concorso guests at the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel. Guests can start the day with a guided anaerobic exercise session on the hotel rooftop. This unique focus on health and wellness, combined with luxury Italian hospitality sets Anantara Concorso Roma apart from other car concours shows, creating a balanced and enriching experience for all attendees. As well as Technogym, the event's presentation partner is UBS, with additional confirmed partnerships including Richard Mille, CARS, Whispering Angel, Lockton, Lamborghini Polo Storico and Schedoni.
Of course, being a concours event, there’s an element of competition for the entrants to enjoy. Everything from the pre and post-war cars, racing cars from the golden eras of historic racing, sports and GT cars, early supercars, and even ultra-modern hypercars will all be grouped by class and judged by a team of marque specialists based on authenticity and elegance. The panel of international judges, assembled by concours grandee and Chief Judge Dott. Adolfo Orsi Jr., includes Honorary Judge Lorenzo Ramaciotti among an array of leading names from the design and automotive world.
If you’re the custodian of a car that celebrates true Italian style and charm, hopefully you have already submitted your car for participation, as the inaugural Anantara Concorso Roma is now full and closed for applications. There is always 2026! Non-car attendees are also welcome to visit the concorso over the weekend, with tickets available, allowing visitors to experience all of the event's fun in the spectacular Villa Borghese without the need to bring along an Italian automobile. With a calendar bursting at the seams with car-themed excitement over the next few months heading into a non-stop summer, be sure to add this glamourous new event to your must-attend list!
