You don’t need visual contact to know that a car nicknamed the “Rambo Lambo” is going to be exceedingly cool, and they don’t come much more frosty than this white-on-white 1988 Lamborghini LM002 currently available with Auto Sportiva. Originally developed under the “Cheetah” moniker by Lamborghini as a military transport vehicle, in its early form Lamborghini’s all-terrain terror was fitted with a rear-mounted Chrysler V8 and lacked a roof or any doors to speak of. Shortly after, the LM001 emerged, this time boasting a closed body shape with 4 doors and an AMC V8 (producing a rather meagre 180 horsepower) again mounted in the back. Finally, however, they nailed down the recipe with the LM002, which featured the beating V12 heart of the Countach 5000S Quattrovalvole.
Imposing to behold and reportedly mildly terrifying to drive, the 449 horsepower LM002 has since cemented itself as one of the coolest SUVs ever built, and like many Lamborghinis of the era, its polygonal bodywork lends itself rather well to this car’s shade of Bianco Perlato. Inside, the white-out continues onto the leather-bound seats and doors, while the carpets, dash and steering wheel contrast beautifully in a shade of nutmeg.
One of a mere 328 LM002s ever built, this Lamborghini was delivered to its first French owner in 1988 and remained in France for the majority of its life, changing hands only once before it was sold by Artcurial in 2015 to Top Logic Racing Team, its third owner. In recent years, the car travelled first to Austria, and then to Germany in late 2024, where it now resides. Currently showing a mere 31,000 km, this accident-free LM002 is totally stock and ready to enjoy on or off the open road. You just might want to remove your boots before climbing into that glistening leather interior should you venture off the beaten path!
