Be sure to bid on these 8 manual, modern-day Ferraris in Monterey

Among all the eight-figure classics and blue-chip hypercars offered at auction during Monterey Car Week, it’s not easy to find the dream cars us mortals can still afford. However, look closer at the RM Sotheby’s catalogue and you will find an almost irresistible collection of manual Ferraris.

There’s something about Ferrari’s grand tourers from the turn of the millennium that is hard to resist. They combine the subtle elegance of Pininfarina’s trademark design language and puristic cockpits with the sheer force of a V12 engine made in Maranello, and the suitability for everyday use. Show us a Ferrari 456, 550, 599 or 612 specced in a subtle colour and equipped with a manual gearbox, and we will reflexively pull out the checkbook. Naturally, RM Sotheby’s has compiled a fantastic line-up of 38 Ferraris from all ages for its upcoming Monterey sale – but somehow it’s the following eight gran turismos we simply cannot stop looking at.
