To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE at RM Sothebys' Monterey event, 15 - 17 August 2024.

  • One of 1,548 produced between 1992 and 1998
  • Finished in the magnificent shade of Nero Tropicale
  • Powered by a 5.5-liter V-12 engine backed by a six-speed gated manual transmission
  • Covered 14,353 miles from new at time of cataloguing

At the 40th anniversary celebrations of Garage Francorchamps in Brussels, Belgium in 1992, Ferrari introduced its newest four-seater grand touring car. Boasting elegant Pininfarina styling, the 456 GT would propel Ferrari into the 21st century while harkening back to their stunning GT cars of the 1950s and 1960s.

As a four-seater Ferrari grand-tourer, the 456 GT’s performance was exceptional. Its new 442-horsepower V-12 ensured it could reach speeds of over 186 mph and accelerate from 0–60 mph in just 5.2 seconds. The powertrain included the revered six-speed gated manual transaxle for ideal weight balance, while its suspension featured telescoping gas-filled shocks and a self-leveling rear axle for ultimate road holding at speed. The 456 GT has lately been sought out by collectors for its superb grand touring capabilities, elegant styling, wonderful performance, and compliant suspension.

This 456 GT was completed at Maranello in July 1994 and finished in Nero Tropicale. It was sold new through Newport Imports of Newport Beach, California, and would remain in California ownership until 2013, when it was purchased by a resident of Florida. From there, according to the accompanying CARFAX report, the Ferrari was retained under private ownership in Connecticut and Pennsylvania prior to joining the current collection in January 2017. Today this 456 GT is offered having covered 14,353 miles from new at time of cataloguing.

Among the last of the analog Ferraris, the 456 GT with its elegant design, potent front-mounted V-12 powerplant, gated manual gearbox, and seating for four, offers a wonderful driving experience and the thrill of ownership with one of the most recognizable and celebrated brands in the world. To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/auctions/mo24/.
