Has Naomi Campbell missed the boat?

The trend for ‘car pooling’ isn’t new, however. In 1997, British band Oasis sank a white Rolls-Royce in a swimming pool for its album cover; but the band was itself following in the footsteps of Who drummer Keith Moon, who is said to have plonked a Lincoln Continental into a hotel pool back in the 1970s. We are curious to see whether the Mert & Marcus tribute will trigger a new fad – and the next auction records will be set by by well-watered and chlorinated classics.

Helicopter from Goldfinger to star at Goodwood Revival

The memorable machine – officially known as a Hiller UH-12E4 – will form part of the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation celebration at the 2014 Revival. It’ll mark 50 years since the chopper starred in the 1964 film, in which Miss Galore (played by Honor Blackman) flew the Hiller to Fort Knox to deliver its atomic payload. Thankfully, it will be on static display at Goodwood minus its famous cargo, allowing visitors the chance to see it up close in relative safety.

Retro rapid-fire with the new 2014 Leica M-P

In outward terms, Leica’s latest M-P is almost identical to the model it replaces; it’s within the chassis that the most tangible updates have been applied. It now has an enlarged buffer memory of 2GB, allowing those toting one to shoot up to 24 consecutive images at a speed of three frames per second. Also of use to a photographer deep in the field is an ‘almost unbreakable’ sapphire glass LCD monitor, and the ability to simulate six different focal lengths without the need to physically change lenses.

Beauty is life without air-conditioning…

Our pretty blonde protagonist is clearly suffering from the stifling heat, and you can bet those thick brown seats aren’t ideal for a summer’s day siesta. But at least she and her friends have dressed for the occasion, ready to be captured by California-based photographer Michael Stonis. This got us thinking – have we finally found the real reason for today’s (otherwise largely pointless) dual-zone climate control systems?
