The jig – bought directly from Ferrari by its current owner in the 1980s – is one of the two produced in period by Scaglietti, used as a reference point for the GTO’s sumptuous aluminium bodywork. With the other being retained by Ferrari, and currently on show in the Modena museum, it represents a unique opportunity to acquire what is possibly the ultimate collectable for the high-end Ferrari enthusiast.
This year's eclectic gathering of manly desirables offers a bumper crop, running close to 1,000 lots that will be dispersed at the Knightsbridge rooms in two sessions, the first tomorrow (Tuesday), the second on Wednesday.
Those who haven't heard of this shamelessly sexist event might be interested to know that this will be its 15th edition, following its inauguration back in 2004 by Geneva-based classic car authority Simon Kidston who, at the time, was running the Bonhams operation in Europe.
Their classic ski poster designs, to be sold at the Christie’s ‘Ski Sale’ in January, demonstrate that advertising can also be a form of art.
