Description

VW T3 Camping

The Volkswagen T3, also known as the Type 25, Vanagon, or Transporter depending on the market, is a versatile and iconic vehicle. The T3 was available in various body styles, including panel van, passenger van (Caravelle), and camper van (Westfalia).

Unlike its rear-engine predecessors, the T3 retained the rear-engine layout but introduced water-cooled engines later in its production run and in rear-wheel drive. This car had an engine swap with the 1990s Golf GTI, so you can ride comfortably with it, without disturbing the traffic. The engine has less mileage than the number of kilometers indicated on the speedometer.

This camping van has been customised with great attention to detail. The wooden interior was made to fit perfectly and gives the car a refreshing look. The classic connections for water and electricity are still in place, and it also has a solar panel on the roof. Thanks to the fixed elevation of the roof, there is sufficient headroom and the roof hatch is also available.

The rust spots on the car were recently repaired, so the car is generally in good condition and ready for the next holiday.

The VW T3 camping cars are beloved by van enthusiasts and adventurers for their ruggedness, simplicity, and the sense of freedom they provide. Well-maintained and restored T3 campers are highly sought after.

There is a vibrant community of VW T3 owners and restorers, with numerous clubs, forums, and events dedicated to these vehicles. The T3 is versatile and can be used for everyday driving, long road trips, and camping adventures.

While generally robust, T3s require regular maintenance, especially given their age. Parts are relatively available, but finding skilled mechanics familiar with these vehicles can sometimes be challenging.

The VW T3 camping car remains a symbol of the adventurous spirit and has a dedicated following of enthusiasts who appreciate its unique blend of practicality and character.
