Description
Chassis no. WVWZZZ17ZCW022747 Three owners from new.
1987 white Modena plates.
Originally sold in Bologna and always registered in Italy.
Almost the entire car still wears its original paint. The color scheme is Diamond Silver Metallic (L97A) over gray/blackvinil-black fabric interiors.
Original interiors, apart from small black leather reinforcements present on the inside of the side panels.
Originally equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox. Period-correct alloy wheels.
Sound, complete and almost entirely original car. Perfect for being driven, or a good and solid starting point for work intended to bring it up to concours standard.
1.6-liter, 4-cylinder engine with a maximum output of 110 HP. When this engine is used to power the GTI, which weighs less than 1,000 kg, the result is pure driving fun.
The Golf I, unveiled in May 1974, changed automotive history. Had it not been for this model and its enormous success, there would be no Volkswagen as we know it today. From the time of its launch in 1976, the GTI became a byword for success, great driving and ease of use. Indeed, from the arrival of the Golf GTI onwards, the world of sports cars, from the smallest to the most important, changed definitively.
