Conditions
If in the current car production there is no longer any trace of a car manufacturer that dares to produce cars out of the ordinary, until a few years ago there was a car that fully captures the spirit and history of the old Lancia Delta Integrale, a car with characteristics similar to those of a rally car but usable every day, this is certainly the Subaru Impreza.
Quiet car despite the four-wheel drive, in the normal versions that transforms into one of the most effective road cars produced in the 2000s in the turbo versions, also thanks to the great experience of Subaru technicians on the asphalt and dirt roads of the Wrc world championship.
And unfortunately we poor continental Europeans in recent years have had to say goodbye from afar many of the special versions that Subaru has decided to make on the Impreza base, almost always characterized by greater power, improved technical characteristics and right-hand drive. Not that there was a lack of “Limited Edition” versions imported into Italy, they were simply versions that differed only in simple aesthetic details and little else. Today we are able to present you an automotive perversion made in Japan. Thanks to the initiative of the Uk Garage, the Impreza Type 25. Derived from the Impreza Spec.C, the top of the range version in Japan, the Type 25 is characterized by hand-made and limited production but, fortunately, left-hand drive is expected in this case. From a mechanical point of view, the Type 25 presents itself with the maximum evolution of the 4-cylinder boxer, brought to 2500cc and supercharged with a special turbocharger. The resulting power is equal to 360hp at 6900 rpm, with a torque that is expected to be higher than 40kgm. But the differences compared to the Sti sold on the Italian market are not limited to the engine alone. There are numerous changes to the chassis and basic components, starting from the electronic management system with a control unit equipped with self-diagnosis and new injectors and the chassis itself, structurally reinforced with new STI torsion bars, while the engine hood is made of aluminum. The gearbox is a 6-speed close-ratio JDM type while the transmission is, of course, permanent on the 4 wheels with an electronic Dccd central differential, which allows you to vary the torque distribution manually. The suspensions are equipped with 14 adjustable positions while the exhaust is a specific sports type in stainless steel with a sports catalyst. Continuing to see the list of technical innovations, the Brembo servo-assisted braking system with 4 pistons with aeronautical pipes stands out, equipped with ABS and EBD, while the rims are Prodrive lightened 17″ with Bridgestone 225/45 17″ semi-slick road tires. The 18″ configuration is available on request.
The steering box is a direct type with Group N specifications, with progressive hardening depending on the speed and a turning diameter of 10.7 meters. The equipment is completed by all the comforts that are usually found on cars of a certain rank, such as front and side airbags for the head, air conditioning, there are however many customization possibilities on request, among all we remember the AP Racing 6-piston brakes, 18” BBS or Prodrive wheels, STI pedals, WRC spoiler, WRC bonnet. Lastly, a mention of performance: but the 4.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100, the 12.7 seconds to travel 400 meters from a standing start and the top speed of 265 km/h need no comment!

Curiosity
Litchfield Imports initially imported Japanese Subarus, including the Spec C, to the United Kingdom. The motivation for them to create a new version of the Impreza came when Subaru removed creature comforts such as air conditioning and electric windows from the Spec C in late 2003. Iain Litchfield wanted to continue offering them in versions such as the Spec C. Litchfield saw good potential in the EJ257 and imported it, modifying the heads to produce 350 bhp (261 kW). The engines were installed in a JDM STI which was fitted with AST Sportline suspension adjustable shock absorbers, Whiteline anti-roll bars and an anti-lift kit. The May 2004 edition of EVO Magazine called it “the best Impreza ever”, in a test against the WR1, Spec C and P1.
